Prophetic is an American technology company developing a device to induce lucid dreaming. We helped them design and develop their first generation system both in terms of softgoods and industrial design
From Deep Sleep to Lucid Dreaming
The device of the wearable we designed was driven primarily by the need to create comfort while sleeping, organizing the components internally in order to enable the most stable stimulation as well as enabling the most common sleeping positions.

Designing a Headband for Function and Comfort
The system required the headband to direct low-intensity ultrasonic energy through the forehead toward the prefrontal cortex while the user sleeps. To achieve that we had to create a flexible fabric band with minimal features on the sides and back of the band to allow for a comfortable sleep while ensuring the band did not shift position during sleep

Our challenge was to learn the technical constraints of this technology and design the wearable device to ensure the stimulation is applied safely and intentionally.
